Lean In Animation
For the final project in my Motion Design course, I created a 1-minute explainer of Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In philosophy, cycling through quick statistics on gender imbalance in the workplace and her three tips to advancing your career. The final product was meant to imitate stop-motion, with choppy movements (shoutout to the Wiggler panel) and layered elements. The colors are bright, reminiscent of those construction paper, school project days.
I continued to refine my After Effects skills in this project, developing workflows between Photoshop, Illustrator and AE for my animations. I explored more functions within After Effects, specifically focusing on 3D rendering, lighting and AE scripts. With the help of these three techniques, I was able to simulate layers, creating realistic shadows and textures within the animation.
